Requirements
PrintThe Results Room should preferably have free access broadband - wired by preference, wireless otherwise - or an ISDN line, available. At the very least we require an analogue phone line we can dial out on. We will usually be connected to the Internet continuously during the day of the rally. NOTE! If the hotel is providing a “house phone” line, you should discuss charges with them in advance. We use a local rate access; at week-end rates this works out at about 60c/hour, which is not very much (maybe as much as €12 to €15), but at “hotel” rates this could easily be several hundred euro! Where no other option exists, we can use one of our mobile broadband devices. This will be charged at €5/day.
If cards are to be collected and couriered to HQ, we will require at least one additional person at HQ to assist with data entry.
All laptop computers must be made available early in the afternoon of the day before the event, for software installation, configuration, and checking out. All personnel who are going to be using laptops for data entry at passage controls should be available for briefing on the evening before the first day of the event.
